YUVVRAAJ MOVIE REVIEWS
Rediff.com 4/5
Ultimately, Yuvvraaj is a triumphant score from the maestro. For all its meticulous arrangement and old-world grandeur, it's essentially deep-rooted in timeless melody, which seldom disappoints. Read More

On the whole, YUVVRAAJ is interesting in parts, with the penultimate 20/25 minutes taking the film to an all-time high. Read More

All said, 'Yuvvraaj' does have a few moments that touch your heart. Simple moments like the autistic Gyanesh taking the blame for a road accident by his brother Deven. Or another moment when Deven begs the doctor (Boman) to attend to his dying brother. Read More

Anil Kapoor, Subhash Ghai's lucky mascot, takes centre stage as soon as he makes an appearance. What a fine performer he is. Takes you back to 25 years ago to ESHWAR. Dialogue is bizarre and in one scene has Deven explain to a policeman that his brother took the blame for his driving accident because he is an "Indian Brother". Yuvvraaj would have been a sinking ship, but is somewhat salvaged by Anil Kapoor's class act and Kaif's agreeable screen presence. Read More

On the flip side, the story hangs loosely in the middle and winds up in a mothballed climax, where old-fashioned baddies try to bump off the goofy Anil Kapoor who does an Eeshwar all over again. But Salman Khan and AR Rahman more than make up for the lapses, carrying you off on a sonata and a song. Read More

Technically too, the movie is likely to fare well. Kabir Lal's cinematography is commendable. While Omung Kumar is the art director. Chinni and Rekha Prakash along with Ahmed Khan and Shiamak Davar have choreographed. The most significant thing is that Subhash Ghai has himself written the dialogues. Read More

To sum up, the musical drama Yuvvraaj strikes the right cord in parts. A superb performance by Anil Kapoor and good performances from the rest of the cast holds the typical Subhash Ghai movie together. Read More
